Some other states are also considering banning smoking in all public places. Take a side of this issue (it doesn\'t matter what you really believe - if you like playing devil\'s advocate, please do) and make your case. Be sure to include physiological considerations i.e. how specifically smoking affects health, the specific health implications, civil rights issues, etc. Be sure to reference any factual information and feel free to do some research.
Solution
It has been medically proved that not only smoking causes harm to the smoker (active smoking), it also affects other nearby people (passive smoking). As a result, smoking has been banned in public places in most states. Many other states have been smoking in schools, colleges, hospitals, etc. Since tobacco consists of carcinogenic compounds, it may lead to cancer of the lung, mouth and throat. Thus, making smoking in public places illegal may improve the health of a lot of people.
Smoking can cause fatal diseases such as pneumonia, emphysema and cancer in lung, throat and mouth. The respiratory system is also affected. Irritations in the trachea and larynx affects the lung. Swelling of the lung airways may cause breathlessness. Formation of excess mucus may clog the airway.
