What is the difference about squaring the data values, at least compared to adding or multiplying by a constant?

Solution

suppose the values are 5,4,3

mean=(12/3) =4

Now we add 3 to all the observations

Then mean will becomes 7

Instead of adding all values just we add 3 to the mean. Similarly subracting and multiply and divisoon also.
