A microcomputer is a computer on a smaller scale i.e it is a personal computer designed for an individual. It includes microprocesser or CPU, storage memory i.e. RAM, ROM etc. Below is how microcomputer functions -

Data or text enetered on the computer through a keyboard is processed by the microprocessor through programming and converting the language to a binary code that is interpreted by the processor. Depending on the interpretation, the result is displayed as output from the storage. The processor speed is dependent on the RAM which is a temporary storage of data. The data is retrieved from ROM which is a permanent storage of data that is stored till deletion.
