Then we need to do the algebra to get the toatl cost of dozen eggs and 2 bread packets.

12*5+2*15 = 60+30 = 90

We need to pay $90.

We want to buy 1/2kg sugar where 1kg sugar is $50.

The cost of 1/2kg sugar = 50/2 = 25.

We need to pay $25.

Thus, in many applications this algebra is used.
