If two functions f(x) and g(x) is such

(f o g)(x) = (g o f)(x) = x

It will happen only if functions are inverse of each other.

For e.g let us consider two inverse functions f(x) = lnx and g(x)= e^x

Then fog(x) = x , and gof(x) = x .So for if fog(x) = gof(x) = x then property of functions are called inverses.
