Solution

Assumptions made in derivations:

1. The beam has a straight longitudinal axis

2. The cross-section is symmetric about the y-axis

3. The cross-section of the beam remain plane (no out-of-plane warping) and perpendicular to the longitudinal axis during deformation in pure bending,

4. The delection curve is circular.

The assumptions and hence the equation is valide for \"linear & non-linear\" and \"elastic & inelastic\" material.

The formula is applicable to \"homogeneous & heterogenous\" and \"isotropic & anisotropic\" material IF the properties are symmetric about Y-axis. That is materail can be heterogenous arbibralily in X-axis but symmetric in Y-Axis.

My SolutionAssumptions made in derivations: 1. The beam has a straight longitudinal axis 2. The cross-section is symmetric about the y-axis 3. The cross-sectio
