Find the slopeintercept form of the line the given Parallel

Find the slope-intercept form of the line the given. Parallel to 3x + 9y = 10, passing through (1, 6) The slope- form of the line is y = (Use integers or)

Solution

Dear Student

Thank you for using Chegg !!

Given equation of a line

3x + 9y = 10

Writing the equation in slope intercept form

9y = -3x + 10

y = -(1/3)x + 10/9 (Slope intercept form is y = mx + c)

Now equation of a line parallel to this line will have same slope i.e. (-1/3)

Threfore equation will be y = (-1/3)x + c

Now since this line passes through (1,6) hence this point should satisfy line equatin

6 = (-1/3) + C

C = 19/3

Hecne the required equation of line is

y = (-1/3)x + 19/3

or

x + 3y = 19
