For this reaction how does having a 11 mole ratio of Mgbromo

For this reaction, how does having a 1:1 mole ratio of Mg:bromobenzene and a 1:1 ratio of PhBr:ketone help assure that the grignard reaction would occur successfully without rigorously removing every molecule of H2O from glassware and solvents?
Br MgBr Ph Ph L1

Solution

The following can be taken to make Grignard reaction

1) Etheral solvents should be used. This solvent is should be dried in sodium wire.

2) All glassware should be over dried at 110°C in order to make sure all the glassware is totally dry

3) The reaction should be conducted in Inert Atmosphere

4) The solvent and reagent should be taken for this react in Inert Atmosphere

Use solvent to wash the glassware instead of distilled water.
