Public Policy: Public policy is defined as the policy made for the public to follow. The policy is made based on the government rules, government regulations, government laws and common interest of the public. These policies are made to drive the common behavior among the citizens. Public Policies are basically made to drive the common processes and procedures among the people for their routine official needs. These public policies will help to maintain the alignment of public’s processes as per government requirements. Public policies are made in the common interest or benefits of the common people of the nation. The people or public can use these policies as the guiding principles and can perform in line with these policies.

Public Administration: Public administration is defined as the bureaucracy processes established in the community/nation for maintaining the administration among the citizen in the community/ nation is known as the public administration. The purpose of public administration is to ensure the implementation of government’s policies with maintaining the law and order in the nation. Public administration ensures the bureaucracy compliances in the community/nation. This controls the public of the nation.

Differences between the two: Public policies are the policies which explains/drives the common processes / methods/ways/ approach among the citizens to follow for their routine needs in a nation. These are the guiding principles for the common public in a nation. Whereas the public administration is the process of maintaining the implementation of public policies among the general public/citizens.

The linkage between the two is that the public policies sets the process or defines the requirements to be followed or to be maintains in a nation where as public administration executes these requirements in the nation. Thus administration is the execution stage of policies.
