Solution

Though there is no any particular gauge or yardstick that used to measure a particular country that whether it is great or not great. But according to my view, America is not the greatest country; in fact, no country could hold a position today that makes them call greatest.

For me, the character that makes a country great is elements like its historical linkage, prosperity in the economic and cultural term, value for internal and external peace and brotherhood, its positive impact on the world as well as its image to the outer world.

America which is known today in its little over 200 years old history has achieved great economic prosperity in a very less time especially after world war two era but all this has come at a huge cost.

Though the US led countries has won the 2nd world war, world has to pay heavily in the form of beginning of a nuclear race when us dropped atomic bomb and murdered over one million people deliberately to win the war and prove its supremacy. after the war its power lust has taken further complicating the world order by dividing the world into two factions of capitalist and communist the price of which has to paid by the innocent poor and underdeveloped nations of the world in which they have to participate in its faction so that they do not get harmed by American military and economic might.

not only this but today\'s most of the global environmental problem is the direct consequence of American lust of materialistic pleasure at the cost of the environment as American measure its prosperity how much and in what volume it consumes energy, water, resources and produces garbage which is highest in the world.

America is blamed often by many countries that it has used its military power to capture its resources, for example, its unilaterally military intervention in countries like Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Libya in which thousands and thousands of innocent civilians have to lose its life.

Material prosperity and wealth and military strength could never be the only measure for the greatness of a country but how a country uses its economic and military power for the welfare of its people as well as the people of the world.

American capitalism has created a huge gulf of having and has not within its own country but among all those countries who follow the capitalist market path.

though American soft power like Google, face book and Microsoft has made the life easier for the world which has its reach in every part of the world but America is also supplying the evilest things like pornography which is a thriving legal industry in America and which is polluting the innocent mind and is most important cause of growing sexual offences against women in many parts of the world.

it may be the economic prosperity and technological achievements has made the American life easy and it may be that America today is a great military power but in achieving all these it has made its image a hegemonic power who want to force its perception on the other country and is held responsible directly or indirectly for every military intervention over the world.

So all these are not the sign of greatness of a nation.
