Solution

On the job training is given to the employees within the workplace to perform the tasks for a specific job. The coworkers and managers usually provide the training and the one I have undergone was given by my senior coworker. If I evaluate my training based on the duty I had to perform, the training was effective but when I evaluate the training based on improving other job related skills which include interpersonal skills, communication skill and team leading skills the training was ineffective. The OJT made me to handle my role but did not help me to develop my skills that would contribute to my career growth. Apart from this as the training is conducted within the working environment, the training may get disrupted if any serious issues arise. The trainer will be concentrated on solving the issue and we would not get adequate attention of the trainer. The trainer’s teaching skill would also affect the effectiveness as the trainer may not be an experienced trainer. Hence in my opinion trainings can be effective only if the trainer would be able to provide much attention to the trainees and help them to develop skills understanding the weaknesses.
