Solution

The learning curve formula is

T₅ = Ax^b where

T₅ = Total time rquired to produce 5 units

A = Average Time or labour hours required to produce first unit = 20 hours

x = unit number & b = constant which is calculated as logP/ Log2 where P = learning percentage = 85% in this case

Here b = log.85/log2 = -0.234

Therefore average labour hours required to produce 5 units is

T₅ = 20 (5^-0.234 ) = 13.72 hours
