Find the average rate of change of fx 3x2 2 a From 2 to 0

Find the average rate of change of f(x) = 3x^2 + 2: (a) From -2 to 0 (b) From 2 to 4 (c) From 3 to 6

Solution

f(-2) = 12 + 2 =14
f(0) = 2

So, AROC = (14 - 2) / (-2 - 0)
= 12/-2
= -6

-------------------------------------------------------------

2 to 4 :
f(2) = 14 also
f(4) = 3(4)^2 + 2
f(4) = 50

So, AROC = (50 - 14) / (4 -2)
= 36/2
= 18

------------------------------------------------------------

3 to 6 :
f(3) = 3(3)^2 + 2 = 29
f(6) = 3(6)^2 + 2 = 110

So, AROC = (110 - 29) / (6 - 3)
= 81/3
= 27

 Find the average rate of change of f(x) = 3x^2 + 2: (a) From -2 to 0 (b) From 2 to 4 (c) From 3 to 6Solutionf(-2) = 12 + 2 =14 f(0) = 2 So, AROC = (14 - 2) / (
