If you used 08ml of 1Hexene d0673 gml 20ml of 1M borane in T

If you used 0.8ml of 1-Hexene (d=0.673 g/ml), 2.0ml of 1M borane in THF, and 1.2mlof 30% (wt/vol) H2O2 (30g per 100ml of solution), how many grams of 1-Hexanol would you expect. Please give a clear explanation for rating! Thanks.

Solution

mass of hexene used = 0.8 *0.673 = 0.5384 g

molarmass of hexene = 84, hence mole = 0.5384/84 = 0.0064

mole of borane = molarity * volume = 1 * 0.002 = 0.002

mass of H2O2 = 1.2*0.3 = 0.36, molar mass = 34

mole = 0.36/34 =0.01

now reaction takes one mole each of the above to yiedl one mole of hexanol

since the mole of borane is less , it is the limiting reagent and mole of hexanol to be formed = 0.002

molar mass = 102

mass expected= 102*0.002 = 0.204 g

If you used 0.8ml of 1-Hexene (d=0.673 g/ml), 2.0ml of 1M borane in THF, and 1.2mlof 30% (wt/vol) H2O2 (30g per 100ml of solution), how many grams of 1-Hexanol
