Three sisters are identical triplets. The oldest is Kiara, and Kiara always tells
anyone the truth. The next oldest is Natalie, and Natalie always will tell
anyone a lie. Aliyah is the youngest of the three. She sometimes lies and
sometimes tells the truth.

Abe, an old friend of the family\'s, came over one day and as usual he didn\'t
know who was who, so he asked each of them one question.

Abe asked the sister that was sitting on the left, \"Which sister is in the
middle of you three?\" and the answer he received was, \"Oh, that\'s Kiara.\"

Abe then asked the sister in the middle, \"What is your name?\" The
response given was, \"I\'m Aliyah.\"

Abe turned to the sister on the right, and then asked, \"Who is that in the
middle?\" The sister then replied, \"She is Natalie.\"

This confused Abe; he had asked the same question three times and received
three different answers.

Solution

If the left one had told the truth i.e. the middle one is Kaira, then the middle one would not have replied that she was Aliyah, since Kaira would only speak the truth.

Hence it is definite that the middle is not Kaira.

And if Kaira sat in the left end, definitely she would not have told middle one is Kaira. Hence left end is also not Kaira.

So only possibility is right one is Kaira. Now left and middle should be one Natalie and one Aliyah.

Since Kaira the right end always tells the truth, the middle one is Natalie.

So left end sitting is Aliyah
