When we try to achieve something , we come accross many hurdles. There are alot of hurdles between your goal and initial step. Norman defined 7 stages of action which simulates it all. Here are the 7 stages of action :

1. Forming the goal

2. Forming the intension

3. Specifying an action

4. Executing the action

5. Percieving state of world

6. Interpreting state of world

7. Evaluating the outcome.

First stage is for activity design. Next 3 are for interaction design and last three are for information design.

The four principles of design are :

1. Contrast

2. Repetition

3.Alignment

4.Spelling

These all are interconnected with each other.
