Meiosis is a process by which cell divides. In meiosis cell divides to form four daughter cells, each with half parental chromosomes i.e half from mother and half from father. So it is evident that meiosis will takes place in reproductive organs whether it is plants or animals.

In animals meiosis occurs in testes(males) and ovaries(females).

In plants it occurs in anther to form pollen grains and within ovary to form ovules.
