I am solving Rational Inequalities and I am a little confuse

I am solving Rational Inequalities and I am a little confused about when I am supposed to change the direction of the inequality sign. Is it when I divide by a negative number? If so, a negative numerator? a negative denominator or both?

Solution

If we want to change direction of inequlity sign then we mulitply or divide by a negative number. If we divide then either divide numerator or denominator ( any one) with negative sign.
