Problem 10.3 A dc series motor is supplied by 250 Vdc, and runs at 600 rpm. The armature resistance is 1.1 , and the field winding resistance is 0.8 . The motor constant is 0.75 V.s/A. Calculate the output power.

Solution

v=250 voltss

N=600 RPM

R=Ra+Rf=1.1+0.8=1.9 ohms

Eb=0.75*2*3.14*600/60=47.12 volts

v=Eb+ia*R

250=47.12+ia*1.9

ia=106.77 amps

output power=Eb*ia=47.12*106.77=5.031 kwatts
