A patient is told he has diabetes insipidus. He doesn\'t understand the difference in diabetes insipidus and diabetes mellitus. How would you explain the difference to him, including why they are both called \"diabetes\"? Include both the cause of each disease and symptoms of each disease in your answer, including a BRIEF description of type 1 and type 2 diabetes.

Diabetes insipidusthey have a common name,

2.Diabetes mellitus causes polyuria because of process known as osmotic diuresis,

high level of blood sugar mix into the urine & taking water with it.

Symptoms:

Increased thirst,frequent urination,weight gain etc. are the symptoms of Diabetes insipidus.

Type 1 Diabetes is normal diabetes which described earlier.

Type 2 is metabolic disorder in which body can\'t use insulin properly.
