Answer: Phospholipids are described as amphipathic because it contain property of both hydrophilic and hydrophobic as the head portion of phospholipids are hydrophilic and faces outward to the membrane and two tail which is inside the membrane and is hydrophobic,due to which we called Phospholids as amphipathic.
