Use the graphs of f and g to evaluate the composite function

Use the graphs of f and g to evaluate the composite function, (g f) (g f) (2) =

Solution

from the graph f(2) = 6

hence (g o f)(2) = g(f(2))

                       = g(6)

from the graph we can see y = g(x) that g(x) passes through (-1, 0) and (0, -1), so eqaution of y =g(x) can be found by

(y-0) = (-1-0)/(0-(-1))}*(x -(-1))

y = -1(x+1)

=> y = -x-1

=> y = g(x) = -(x+1)

hnece (g o f)(2) = g(6) = -(6+1)

                       = -7 answer
