In USA there are 3 types of law which are commonly used and most important in United States constitution. All the citizens in USA are expected to abide the law. Else the people will have to face a lot of difficulty. Listing down the types of law and how they are used on legal decision making.

Federal law – Federal law is usually pertinent to people living in USA. The federal law is originated in the US constitution to enact certain purposes like military, money, foreign relations, intellectual properties and mail. After the president signs a bill, it is offered to federal registrar to pass the law to the public. Even though federal court do not pass the law they still interpret the federal and state law. The best example is Brown v/s Board of education of Topeka which had separated public school students. The parents of Topeka filed a case since the board refused to accept 13 students to enrol them from upcoming education year.

Common Law – Common law is a rule which is created by judges as they issueruling on cases as the rules made by legislature. This law is derived from judicial decisions of courts. This law has raised from traditional and inherent authority of courts to define what the law is. This law is common to country as a whole and the common law is often anti-majoritarian. The common law evolves to meet the social needs and improved understanding. These laws are used for marriage issues. Breaking the local US law, traffic issues, transport issues and many other laws which are broken.

State law – All the states have a legislative branch which enacts state regulations. It refers to each separate US state and not preemted by federal constitution or international treaties. Most of the supreme courts are the main decision makers of the state law. There was one of the state law which made in Lousiana, Any person who shall rent the Negro when such building is already in part of occupancy shall be guilty of misdemeanour.
