Seven 7 kgs air enters the compressor of a gasturbine engine

Seven (7) kg/s air enters the compressor of a gas-turbine engine at 2A degree C and 9B kPa. The compressor exit temperature is 27C degree C. Heat is transferred to air in the amount of 16DE kJ/kg before it enters the turbine. The turbine and compressor isentropic efficiencies are both 9F%, determine (a) the fraction of the turbine work output used to drive the compressor, (b) the thermal efficiency, (c) the turbine and compressor works, heat addition and rejection. Use cold air standard assumptions.

Solution

The answer of following question is as follows.

The turbine work output is 78kw.

The thermal efficiency of the given is 65%
